The theme of day “health for justice, justice for health” The organization has organized A Rally and Culture programme among the sisters organization with the Collaboration with Social welfare Organization of the area to observe international Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The objective of the program was to prevention of drug users through drug education and awareness pillar. drug education and awareness are important because young people are faced with many influences to use both licit and illicit drugs. Education and awareness can play a counterbalancing role in shaping a normative culture of safety, moderation, and informed decision making.
Fulkumari Bapuji Club provide the service to approx 100 nos of Injecting drugs User(IDU,s) under TI project with the help of Assam Aids Control Society. Injecting Drug Use (IDU) has emerged as an important route in the HIV transmission dynamics in India. The burden of HIV among IDUs is expanding and blood-borne infections, such as HIV, hepatitis B (HBV) and hepatitis C (HCV) are spread among IDUs primarily through risk behaviours related to sharing of contaminated needles and syringes as well as through high risk sexual behaviours such as unprotected sex, unsafe sex under the influence of drugs /alcohol and sex for exchange of drugs.
